Alpine Building Supply is seeking a dependable, hardworking Yard Worker / Delivery Driver to join our team in Moravia, NY. This position is responsible for maintaining an organized and safe lumberyard, assisting customers with loading materials, preparing orders, and delivering building supplies to residential and commercial job sites. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, customer-focused, and enjoys working outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesYard Operations
- Load and unload building materials, lumber, and other products safely and efficiently.
- Pull, stage, and verify customer and contractor orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and warehouse environment.
- Assist customers with loading purchases into vehicles and trailers.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other material handling equipment (training available if needed).
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Delivery Duties
- Deliver building materials to customer locations and job sites in a safe and professional manner.
- Inspect delivery vehicles before and after trips.
- Secure loads properly and ensure deliveries are accurate and complete.
- Obtain delivery confirmations and communicate any issues to management.
- Maintain a clean and professional company vehicle.
Customer Service
- Provide friendly and professional service to homeowners, contractors, and other customers.
- Answer basic product questions and direct customers to sales staff when needed.
- Represent Alpine Building Supply in a positive and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Driver's License required.
- Clean driving record preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, and standing.
- Ability to load and unload heavy building materials.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round.

Schedule
