Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Head Start Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners in a dynamic early childhood education environment. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori and other progressive teaching methods.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction among children.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of child development using standardized testing tools and observational techniques to tailor instruction effectively.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies, ensuring a safe and nurturing space for all children.
- Collaborate with families to communicate progress, address concerns, and support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, child progress reports, mandated reporting documentation, and classroom activities in compliance with childcare regulations.
- Incorporate physical education activities and literacy education into daily routines to promote holistic development across all domains.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in preschool teaching or daycare settings with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and mandated reporting laws.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds, including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields preferred; Montessori training is a plus.
- Experience with standardized testing procedures, lesson planning, and teaching physical education or tutoring activities is desirable.
