Duties
Offer peer support and mentorship to individuals navigating mental health and substance use recovery.
Assist individuals in identifying strengths, setting recovery goals, and developing wellness plans.
Utilize motivational interviewing and recovery-oriented practices to support positive behavioral change.
Connect individuals with community resources, housing supports, employment opportunities, healthcare services, and recovery programs.
Support community integration and independent living skill development.
Encourage self-advocacy, empowerment, and personal responsibility in recovery.
Assist individuals in building healthy coping skills and recovery supports.
Document interactions, progress notes, and service delivery activities accurately and timely.
Collaborate with behavioral health professionals, social workers, case managers, and community partners.
Participate in ongoing professional development and peer recovery training opportunities.
Maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards for peer recovery services.
Qualifications
Required
Current Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification.
Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery.
Strong communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to recovery-oriented and person-centered care.
Preferred
Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) in Virginia.
Experience working in behavioral health, social services, peer support, or recovery settings.
Knowledge of recovery principles, motivational interviewing, and community-based support services.
Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Compensation & Benefits
