Creative Dining Services is looking for a Deli and Food Prep worker at the Jackson National Life building located at the Okemos exit of I-96 in Lansing, MI.
The Deli and Prep position works within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high-quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation, in a safe manner. Works cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary.
Background check and drug screen (including Marijuana) required at this location.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-2:15pm with 1/2 unpaid break
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare food such that all food is ready for use within the established timeframe and according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal.
- Utilizes safe food handling techniques at all times.
- Maintains production records and established logs
- Maintains a clean and sanitized work area.
- Maintains a safe, tidy and well-organized work environment at all times
- Supports other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately.
- Assists in ordering and inventory procedures.
- Removes refuse as needed.
- Puts away/Pulls stock as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year food service experience
