Longfellow, Landy & Revell, LLP is looking to hire a full-time Legal Assistant to join our existing team for civil litigation matters. The position will require experience scheduling, calendaring, setting up litigation files, using state and federal court electronic filing systems, maintenance of paper and electronic files, communicating with clients, using Microsoft Office, and assisting in deposition and trial preparation. The position will require the candidate to be very organized, attentive to detail, focused, able to multi-task, and work well with others on various projects. No phone calls please.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, examine, and organize files and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts
- Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
- Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems
- Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney's calendar and making travel arrangements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines
