Position Summary:
This position is responsible for EDM Set-Up and Programming for wire and conventional machines. As part of the production process, you will transform raw material into precision-engineered components that meet our high-quality standards. First shift hours are 6 am to 4:30 pm and Second shift 4:15 pm to 2:45 am.
Essential Job Functions:
- Program and set-up wire and EDM machines to produce complex, high-precision parts.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and blueprints to determine machining strategies.
- Select appropriate tooling, electrodes, and machine parameters for optimal results.
- Inspect parts using blueprints, calipers, and micrometers.
- Notify manager of product discrepancies and machinery/equipment malfunctions.
- Monitor machining processes, troubleshoot issues, and maintain quality standard throughout production.
- Maintain EDM equipment, ensuring peak performance and minimal downtime.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures especially safety regulations.
- Willing to assist and help coworkers with a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior use of micrometers, calipers, and reading blueprints.
- Mechanical abilities to trouble shoot and adjust machinery.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- High attention to detail while being able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate and willingness to share knowledge with the team.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Experience:
- Previous EDM Set Up and software programming experience.
- Knowledge of CNC mill, manual mills, lathes, and grinders needed to make electrodes required.
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
