As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently over the road (OTR), ensuring on-time deliveries while complying with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Your expertise in logistics, cargo handling, route driving, and hazardous materials regulations will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for safety, reliability, and exceptional service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing routes.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques or forklift operation when necessary, ensuring cargo is secured according to safety standards.
- Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and FMCSA guidelines.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or road conditions to ensure smooth operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, or similar equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and safety protocols for dangerous goods transportation.
- Hands-on experience with truck loading and unloading procedures, forklift operation, and manual handling techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate using GPS navigation systems over long-distance routes across various terrains.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the types of vehicles operated.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes and the importance of safety compliance during all phases of transport.
