Estimator – Substation / Power Infrastructure

Overview:
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading North American infrastructure contractor, for a Substation Estimator to support medium-to-high-voltage power delivery projects. This role sits within a growing electrical infrastructure division focused on transmission, distribution, and grid modernization.
The position plays a key role in developing accurate and competitive bids for substation construction projects, working closely with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and clients to support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review bid specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Interpret complex substation project requirements, including new builds, upgrades, and expansion works.
- Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and validate scope assumptions.
- Collaborate with project management and operations teams to refine budgets, methodologies, and execution strategies.
- Participate in bid reviews, internal commercial discussions, and client-facing meetings where required.
- Support negotiations and respond to client queries throughout the bidding process.
- Ensure all estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project delivery strategies.
Ideal Background & Experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in estimating or project management roles within infrastructure or power delivery environments.
- Strong background in substation construction, utility infrastructure, or electrical projects.
- Experience working within contractor or EPC environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and complex project documentation.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with estimating tools and construction documentation processes.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
