Department: Survey
Reports to: Department Manager
Education: College-Level Courses in Land Surveying
Registration: INDOT Right of Way Plan Development Certified
Experience: Not less than 3 years in Land Surveying or Right of Way Engineering
Duties:
- Produce Federal, State, and Local mandated documents required for Land Acquisition in pending construction projects
- Perform project research, review, and interpret title work
- Prepare legal descriptions, right of way plans, right of way plats, area computations, calculation sheets, and stakeouts
- Interpret and review Location Control Route Survey Plats and transportation design plans
- Communicate with field crews and office staff to provide quality services
- Communicate with clients, other consultants, and government officials for project-related items
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Skills:
- Able to work independently, with support from the Department Manager or other Survey staff
- Possess good communication skills
- Able to work within a “team concept.”
- Proficient in the use of the INDOT Right of Way Engineering Manual
- Working knowledge of the INDOT Design Manual – Part III Location Surveys
- Working knowledge of the State of Indiana Administrative Code – Rule 12
- Working knowledge of the INDOT Design Process
- Working knowledge of the INDOT Land Acquisition Process
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D and Carlson software
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Expertise in geometry and trigonometry
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work seated for 9 or more hours per workday
- Able to work 40 or more hours per work week, as needed
Other Requirements:
- Possess a valid Indiana driver's license
- Agree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy
- Designated as a flexible position as defined in the Company Policy
