POSITION DESCRIPTION: Certified Foot Care Specialist
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: The Certified Foot Care Specialist is responsible for providing foot care nursing services to in office or in home and facility clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs focused nursing assessment of clients to determine appropriate interventions to maintain or improve the client’s foot and toenail condition
- Provides consultation in office or in home with clients as well as providing a foot health evaluation
- Reviews clients medical history
- Provides foot soak to the client
- Preforms tasks as appropriate:
- Toenail cleaning
- Toenail trimming
- Toenail thinning
- Performs ingrown toenail removal if able, referring client to a medical professional as necessary
- Provides buffing of calluses and corns
- Provides lotioning and foot rub
- Provides client education of self foot care maintenance and remedies
- Documents, as indicated, in the clinical record
EXPERIENCE/JOB SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- High School Graduate
- Current RN/LPN MN license
