Assemblymember Matt Haney is seeking a Legislative Assistant for their
Capitol Office. Under the direction of the Chief of Staff and Legislative Director,
the successful candidate will perform a variety of duties including, but not
limited to, staffing bills and policy committees, conducting policy-related
research, drafting talking points, fact sheets, letters and preparing the
Assemblymember for meetings, briefings, press, and advising the
Assemblymember on specific issue areas, and general office duties as needed.
Strong writing, initiative, and teamwork skills are necessary. The successful
candidate should have a passion for public policy, possess excellent verbal and
written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a
team environment.
Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in
legislature.
The Assembly salary range for this position is $5,417 - $8,159 monthly. It is
anticipated that the position will be filled at the start of the range unless
applicant has significant legislative work experience.
