This position is only open to current Granville County Public Schools students who are participating in the Pre-Apprenticeship Program.

Learn and apply quantity food production methods and procedures when preparing and serving meals.

Read, interpret and follow standardized recipes.

Properly use and care for all equipment in the Child Nutrition Program.

Assist in the cleaning and sanitizing of the production area (kitchen); cafeteria (dining area); serving area (the line); including small equipment, dish room, tables and floors. (A daily cleaning schedule will be posted by the Child Nutrition manager/assistant manager.

Assist in major cleaning of coolers, freezers, ovens, and storeroom (all large equipment). The Child Nutrition Manager/Assistant Manager will post an equipment cleaning schedule.

Follow sanitation and safety procedures.

Demonstrate acceptable personal grooming practices by adhering to the uniform policy.

Assist the Child Nutrition Manager in assuring that daily food, supplies and equipment needs are adequate for the smooth operation of the cafeteria.

Assist the Child Nutrition Manager with keeping accurate records and reports, as related to food and supply usage.

Assist the CN Manager with keeping accurate meal count records by serving as cashier, when needed.

Assist the Child Nutrition Manager with monthly food and supply inventory.

Promote the Child Nutrition Program by displaying a pleasant attitude and using positive communication skills.

Follow policies and procedures as stated in the Granville County Child Nutrition Handbook.

Keep informed or current trends and developments in the Child Nutrition Program by attending meetings, workshops, classes and other staff development activities.

Comply with the policies stated in the Granville County Child Nutrition Services Handbook.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager, assistant manger or Child Nutrition Director or designee
