We are a fast-moving, entrepreneurial organization seeking a highly motivated Director of Operations to help lead our next phase of growth.
This is not a maintenance role, we are looking for a builder, problem solver, and operator who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys leading teams, and takes ownership of outcomes.
Position Overview
The Director of Operations will oversee the day-to-day execution and performance of the agency while leading our Paid Search, Paid Media, Email Marketing, and Creative teams. Heavy focus on e-commerce brands.
This individual will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, driving client success, identifying growth opportunities, solving complex problems, and developing high-performing team members. The ideal candidate combines deep digital marketing expertise with exceptional leadership and operational skills.
You will serve as a key leader within the organization, partnering closely with the CEO and department leaders to improve processes, increase efficiency, and drive agency growth.
Key Responsibilities - Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily agency operations and team execution
- Build, document, and improve operational processes and workflows
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at a high standard
- Lead cross-functional collaboration between Paid Media, Email, Creative, and Account Management teams
- Remove roadblocks and solve operational challenges quickly and effectively
- Establish accountability systems and performance expectations across teams
- Monitor team utilization, capacity planning, and resource allocation
Marketing Leadership
- Provide strategic oversight for:
- Google Ads
- Meta Ads
- Paid Search
- Paid Social
- Email Marketing
- Creative Performance
- Review campaign performance and provide strategic direction to team leaders
- Identify optimization opportunities that improve client performance
- Stay current on platform updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies
- Partner with account teams to ensure strong client outcomes
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor department leaders and team members
- Develop team talent through ongoing coaching and performance management
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-ones, and performance reviews
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members
Client Leadership
- Participate in client strategy meetings and executive-level discussions
- Serve as an escalation point for client concerns and challenges
- Present performance insights and strategic recommendations
- Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders
Growth & Strategy
- Identify opportunities to improve agency profitability and efficiency
- Spot upsell, cross-sell, and client growth opportunities
- Support agency expansion initiatives and strategic projects
- Analyze agency KPIs and recommend improvements
- Drive implementation of new systems, technologies, and AI tools
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
- 7+ years of digital marketing experience
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing multiple teams
- Previous experience working within a marketing agency environment
- Deep expertise in:
- Google Ads
- Meta Ads
- Performance Marketing
- Paid Search
- Paid Social
- Experience leading fully remote teams
- Strong project management and operational leadership skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities
Preferred
- Master's Degree (MBA or related field)
- Experience managing teams of 10+ employees
- Experience with agency financial metrics and profitability management
- Familiarity with AI-powered marketing tools and automation
- Experience scaling marketing organizations
Technology Experience
Preferred experience with:
- ClickUp
- Klaviyo
- Missive
- Slack
- Google Analytics
- HubSpot (a plus)
- Shopify (a plus)
