This is law enforcement work in the protection of life and property through patrol, investigation of a specialized nature, assistance to citizens, arrest and detention, and related activities. Work involves prevention of crime, the enforcement of laws and ordinances, patrolling of assigned areas, enforcement of traffic regulations, accident investigations. Work involves an element of personal danger and officers must be able to act without direct supervision and must be able to exercise independent judgment in meeting complex emergency situations. Work is performed with independence within established policies & procedures and is reviewed by the Chief of Police through observation of the effectiveness of work performed and results through reports, observations, and discussions.
Take home vehicle available after probation and within 25-mile radius of Town Hall
Applications must be picked up (and turned in) in-person at the Triana Town Hall / Police Department located at 640 6th Street, Madison, AL 35756 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Current APOSTC certification preferred.
