Join our dynamic orthopaedic and sports medicine practice where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care alongside an experienced physician. This hands-on clinical position is ideal for a compassionate, detail-oriented CMA, LPN, or RN who thrives in a fast-paced outpatient environment. You will be an essential member of the care team, assisting with patient evaluations, procedures, treatments, and education while helping ensure each patient receives efficient, high-quality care from check-in through follow-up. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs, documenting chief complaints, updating medical histories, medication lists, and allergies.
- Assist the physician with orthopaedic and sports medicine evaluations, in-office procedures, injections, casting, splinting, bracing, and wound care.
- Perform clinical duties within scope of practice, including medication administration, dressing changes, suture or staple removal, specimen collection, and patient education.
- Prepare exam rooms, procedure rooms, and equipment while maintaining appropriate infection control standards.
- Obtain and document accurate clinical information within the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR).
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, imaging, referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments.
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, post-procedure instructions, and home care.
- Assist with inventory management, stocking clinical supplies, and ensuring exam rooms remain fully equipped.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, imaging departments, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to all organizational policies and clinical protocols.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming, compassionate experience for every patient.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or active LPN or RN license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in orthopaedics, sports medicine, family medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, or another outpatient clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, musculoskeletal conditions, and clinical documentation.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
