THE ROLE
The Senior Roofing Project Manager is a highly mobile field role responsible for providing on-site installation oversight and support in markets where additional coverage, escalated issues, or quality assurance are needed. This role supplements local Project Managers by addressing workload surges, market gaps, or high-risk installs. The Senior Roofing Project Manager ensures installation standards, job site safety, and customer experience are upheld regardless of location.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Support & Coverage
- Travel to assigned markets to support installs lacking local Project Manager coverage
- Assist with jobsite coordination during high-volume weeks or personnel absences
- Serve as a flexible resource for pop-up markets or expansion zones
Jobsite Oversight & Documentation
- Conduct pre-install walkthroughs, install-day monitoring, and post-install inspections
- Capture and upload photos into the CRM system and complete install checklists
- Coordinate subcontractor and material adjustments in the field when needed
Issue Resolution & Escalation
- Address onsite customer concerns and coordinate with Production Manager for rapid resolution
- Intervene in subcontractor quality, pacing, or communication issues as they arise
- Escalate systemic patterns or jobsite risks to the Production Manager, Quality Manager and/or Production Director
Field Coaching & Quality Control
- Provide on-the-job coaching to subcontractors in partnership with the Quality Manager
- Reinforce SmartRoof installation standards and field documentation practices
- Support pilot programs or new product installs as needed
Customer Communication
- Serve as a trusted SmartRoof representative for customer questions during install
- Explain project timelines, address minor scope questions, and gather real-time feedback
Expected Outcomes:
- Markets with staffing gaps experience no drop in install oversight quality
- Customers feel well-supported and informed regardless of project location
- Subcontractors receive coaching and feedback to maintain consistent standards
- Install documentation is completed correctly in all supported regions
- Production leadership has field-level support for special projects and risk mitigation
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in construction, roofing, or project management
- Experience with subcontractor oversight and construction job cycle management
- Strong working knowledge of project workflows, CRM tools, and permitting
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with a solutions-oriented mindset
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires travel to all SmartRoof markets, including but not limited to PA, DE, MD, DC, and NC on a regular as-needed basis.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Base: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
