Kaya Bliss is a licensed New York cannabis dispensary focused on safe, compliant, and customer-centered cannabis retail. Our team is responsible for creating a professional, welcoming, and educational experience for every guest who enters the dispensary.
We are looking for Cannabis Sales Associates, also known as Budtenders, who can combine strong customer service, product education, sales awareness, and compliance discipline in a fast-paced retail environment.
The Cannabis Sales Associate / Budtender is responsible for assisting customers on the sales floor, educating guests on cannabis products, completing accurate transactions, supporting store operations, and maintaining compliance with all company policies and New York cannabis regulations.
This role requires more than cannabis interest. Strong candidates should be comfortable engaging customers, asking thoughtful questions, recommending products responsibly, learning changing menus and promotions, and following detailed procedures every shift.

Greet customers and create a welcoming, professional, and helpful dispensary experience.

Assist customers with cannabis product selection based on their needs, preferences, experience level, and comfort.

Provide clear and responsible product education on categories such as flower, pre-rolls, vaporizers, edibles, tinctures, concentrates, topicals, and accessories.

Explain product differences, potency, onset, duration, consumption methods, and general use considerations in a compliant and customer-friendly manner.

Ask appropriate discovery questions before making product recommendations.

Stay current on the dispensary menu, promotions, brands, product availability, and company updates.

Use the POS system accurately to complete customer transactions.

Handle cash, card payments, loyalty activity, discounts, and customer accounts according to company procedure.

Verify customer eligibility and follow all ID verification and compliance requirements.

Maintain accurate transaction records and avoid unauthorized discounts, shortcuts, or policy violations.

Support daily sales goals by helping customers understand product options and build appropriate baskets.

Restock sales floor products, displays, accessories, and supplies as needed.

Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sales floor.

Communicate with fulfillment, security, supervisors, and leadership to support smooth customer flow.

Assist with customer questions, concerns, or service issues and escalate to leadership when appropriate.

Follow all company SOPs, safety standards, compliance rules, and training requirements.

Participate in coaching, training, product education, and ongoing performance development.

- Able to balance hospitality, sales, compliance, and operational needs during each shift.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have strong customer service, retail, hospitality, wellness, or sales skills.
- Must be able to work assigned shifts, including weekends, evenings, holidays, openings, and closings as needed.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long durations during scheduled shifts.
- Must be able to follow detailed procedures for ID verification, POS use, cash handling, discounts, customer service, and cannabis compliance.
- Must be able to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, supervisors, and leadership.
- Must be able to complete required company and cannabis compliance training.
- Previous dispensary, cannabis, CBD, smoke shop, wellness, pharmacy, or regulated retail experience.
- Previous POS and cash handling experience.
- Previous experience in sales, hospitality, customer education, or product consultation.
- Familiarity with cannabis product categories, cannabinoids, terpenes, potency, onset, duration, and consumption methods.
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
- Ability to stand and walk for long durations.
- Ability to move throughout the sales floor during active customer service.
- Ability to lift, carry, reach, bend, and restock products or supplies as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with frequent customer interaction.
All Cannabis Sales Associates are required to complete company training, cannabis compliance training, and any additional training required by management or New York State regulations. Employees are expected to follow all company SOPs, safety standards, customer service expectations, and compliance procedures at all times.
