We are a growing utility contracting company based in Dallas, TX specializing in underground utilities / water & sewer / trenching. We are expanding our operations and looking for a motivated Bid Coordinator or Estimator to help us find projects and win more contracts in the DFW area.
What You Will Do
- Monitor bidding platforms daily including ConstructConnect, DemandStar, BuildingConnected, and the City of Dallas procurement portal
- Identify utility and civil construction projects matching our scope and capabilities
- Prepare complete bid packages including quantity takeoffs, material pricing, and labor estimates
- Submit bids and invitations to bid (ITBs) on our behalf
- Follow up with General Contractors after bids are submitted
- Build and maintain relationships with GCs and project owners in the DFW market
- Track all bids, results, and pipeline in a simple spreadsheet or bid log
- Report weekly on active bids, upcoming deadlines, and won/lost jobs
What We Are Looking For
- At least 2 years of experience in construction estimating or bid coordination
- Experience with utility, civil, or underground construction preferred
- Familiarity with ConstructConnect, DemandStar, or similar platforms
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong follow-up skills and comfortable making calls to GCs
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with HeavyBid or On-Screen Takeoff is a plus
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Compensation
- Flexible part-time or contract arrangement
- Base pay: $20–$40/hr depending on experience
- Commission: 1%–3% of total value on every contract awarded
- Opportunity to grow into a full-time role as the company expands
