Job Summary: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.
Responsibilities:

Instructing students on instrumental techniques, scales, sight reading, and music theory.

Leading students in the performance of various pieces.

Facilitates all state auditions for qualified students.

Implement various classroom management techniques for maintaining student attention and involvement.

Conducts rehearsals and performances-demonstrating understanding of differences in style among various types of music.

Organize and attend all school concerts in partnership with other District educators.

Committed to establishing and maintaining frequent communication with parents/guardians.

Possesses knowledge and skills in differentiating learning processes, content, and assessments.

Effectively and consistently enforces rules and requires adherence to procedures by students.

Ensures that music and equipment are properly used, maintained, and stored, and that inventory records are accurate or current.

Attend various professional development training as needed.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Experience:
-
1-3 years of success classroom management preferred.

Previous teaching experience with Middle School aged children is preferred but not required.

Education:

Bachelor's degree required.

Certification:

Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
