Automotive Parts Dismantler – Job Overview
An Automotive Parts Dismantler is responsible for safely disassembling vehicles to recover reusable parts for resale or recycling. This role involves inspecting vehicles, removing mechanical and electrical components, testing parts when necessary, labeling and organizing inventory, and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently. The position requires knowledge of automotive systems, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following environmental and safety regulations. Dismantler will be working outside everyday rain or shine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dismantle cars, trucks, and SUVs to remove reusable parts and components.
- Inspect parts for quality and determine resale value.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely.
- Label, inventory, and store parts accurately for warehouse or retail sales.
- Drain and dispose of fluids and hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving vehicles and parts as needed.
- Follow company procedures and safety standards at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic automotive repair or mechanical experience.
- Ability to identify automotive components and understand vehicle systems.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Forklift or equipment operation experience is a plus.
