Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile fields, and monitoring anesthesia with veterinary anesthesia monitoring techniques.
- Perform laboratory work including phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology, and veterinary laboratory testing to support accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Handle animals safely using animal restraint techniques, animal handling skills, and knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to ensure comfort and safety for pets and staff.
- Manage vascular access procedures such as IV insertion and animal catheterization to facilitate medication administration and fluid therapy.
- Operate medical equipment including X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and other veterinary surgical instruments with precision.
- Administer medications accurately following veterinary terminology and protocols while maintaining aseptic technique during procedures.
- Support pet grooming, pet care education for clients, and assist in emergency medicine situations to provide comprehensive care for animals in critical or intensive care settings.
- Maintain detailed records using veterinary software, document radiology diagnostics, and ensure all procedures adhere to safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients about pet care needs, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions to foster trust and understanding.
Experience
- Prior veterinary technician experience or equivalent training is required;
- Hands-on experience with dog handling, animal restraint techniques, IV insertion, animal catheterization, and veterinary surgical assistance will set you apart.

Pay: $24.99 - $30.10 per hour
