Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled items, ensuring they meet recipe specifications and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and food prep stations efficiently and safely
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures rigorously to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on culinary best practices
- Ensure proper food handling and storage protocols are adhered to at all times
- Maintain high standards of food production, including poaching, braising, and other cooking techniques as required
- Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs and restrictions
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, particularly with grilling and food preparation
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods including braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a high-volume setting
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food industry standards
- Excellent food handling skills with attention to detail in presentation and quality control
- Background in dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus for specialized meal preparation
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and teamwork spirit
