Job Summary
Join our dynamic construction team as an Ironworker, where you will play a vital role in building and maintaining steel structures that form the backbone of our projects. As an Ironworker, you will interpret blueprints, handle heavy materials, and execute complex fabrication and assembly tasks to bring architectural visions to life. Your expertise will ensure the safety, durability, and quality of every structure you work on, contributing to iconic projects that shape communities.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble steel frameworks and structural components.
- Fabricate, weld (including MIG, TIG, FCAW), and assemble steel parts using various hand tools and power tools in accordance with safety standards and project specifications.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, and plasma cutters to move and position heavy materials efficiently and safely.
- Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to ensure correct fitment during fabrication and installation.
- Perform pipe threading, ductwork installation, sheet metal work, and assembly tasks following ASME codes & standards for quality assurance.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during fabrication or installation processes while adhering to blueprint instructions.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while following safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), <LOCATION> welding techniques, and plasma cutting.
- Ability to read complex schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in operating cranes, forklifts, press brake machines, and other heavy machinery essential for steel fabrication.
- Competence with hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, soldering irons, power tools, and mechanical measuring devices.
- Knowledge of rigging practices for lifting heavy steel components safely.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining and assembly of structural elements.
- Mechanical aptitude for pipe threading, ductwork installation, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly work.
