Overview
Java Moon and Java Moon Station are looking for a dependable and hard-working Baker’s Assistant to support our bakery team. This position plays an important role in helping our bakers stay focused on what they do best — creating the scratch-made baked goods our community loves.

In this energetic role, you will support the bakery operations by assisting with food preparation, baking, packaging, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help ensure we deliver high-quality products every day. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the food industry.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, takes pride in staying organized, and is willing to jump in wherever needed.
Responsibilities
- Cutting, wrapping, labeling, and packaging baked goods
- Assisting with food and drink prep such as making lemonade, prepping produce, and other kitchen prep tasks
- Assisting baristas with daily prep work including but not limited to making sandwich preps, portioning meat, condiments and making parfaits.
- Occasionally running to the store for supplies
- Assisting baristas with dishes and wiping off tables as needed.
- Washing dishes and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen
- Assisting bakers with daily kitchen tasks as needed
- Helping maintain food safety and cleanliness standards
- Supporting both Java Moon and Java Moon Station locations as needed
Qualifications
- Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a busy environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable and punctual
- Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to help wherever needed
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift bakery/kitchen supplies when necessary
- Previous kitchen or food service experience is helpful, but not required
Position Details
- Part-time and/or full time: approximately 15-30 hours per week
- Starting pay: $16/hour
- Position may work at both Java Moon and Java Moon Station locations
- Weekend availability required
