Contract Duration: Temporary 90-day contract / deployment-based
Schedule: Extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and changing schedules as mission requires

Position Overview
Critical Response Strategies is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to support a temporary OCONUS mission-support project. This position performs inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including primary distribution systems, interior and exterior secondary distribution, interior/exterior perimeter and area lighting, access control systems, and grounding systems. The role requires field-based execution, sound judgment, safety discipline, and the ability to operate in a dynamic deployment environment while maintaining discretion regarding the client, site, and mission details.

Essential Responsibilities
- Shall be responsible for all electrical systems beginning with the main distribution panel downstream of the substations.
- Install, inspect, maintain and repair, primary and secondary circuits and equipment in facilities to include motors and motor control circuits.
- Perform routine operational checks, using operational manuals at a minimum, and repair as required to ensure the electrical distribution system is operational and properly phased and balanced.
- Perform routine operational checks and repairs to Interior Electrical systems to include:
- Electrical panels
- Electrical components
- Lightning protection systems
- Electrical wiring on existing facilities
- Perform routine operational checks and repairs to Electrical Distribution systems to include:
- Medium and high voltage lines (above 600 to 15KV)
- Switchgear and internal and external auxiliary controls
- Electrical lines equal to or below 600 Volts (low voltage)
- Substations
- Secondary distribution centers (SDC), Ex: Metalac.
- Disconnects
- Main and secondary breakers within compact substation
- Transformers, relays, and capacitors
- Perform routine operational checks and repairs to Systems to include:
- Electric motor connections (i.e. for HVAC pumps and water pumps)
- Rollup doors
- Perform routine operational checks and repairs to Lighting Systems to include:
- Street lighting (excluding light carts)
- Facility interior and exterior lighting
- Inspect critical grounding following lightning strikes to confirm system integrity.
- Follow safety measures IAW Air Force Electrical Explosive Safety (4E-F37/645-F21 (MC).
Electrical Standards / Specific Technical Requirements
- Electrical work may include systems beginning with the main distribution panel downstream of the substations, primary and secondary circuits, motors and motor control circuits, medium and high voltage lines above 600 to 15KV, electrical lines equal to or below 600 Volts, substations, secondary distribution centers, disconnects, breakers, transformers, relays, capacitors, lightning protection systems, access control systems, lighting systems, and grounding systems.
- Candidate is preferred to be familiar with UK Electrical standards.
- Candidate must follow safety measures IAW Air Force Electrical Explosive Safety (4E-F37/645-F21 (MC).
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- High school diploma or equivalent training/experience.
- Certified Journeyman Electrician Credential (Or equivalent military background/technical training) with 3 years of experience.
- Preferred underground technician apprenticeship/certification program with 8 years of experience.
- Preferred to be familiar with UK Electrical standards.
- Ability to read and write English is required.
- Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport. Passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months following deployment.
- Must be able to pass an in depth background check.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate US Government Clearance level. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
- Must have physical ability to work in extreme environments. Including but not limited to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme humidity, tropical environments etc.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands
- Frequently lifts items weighing 40-45 pounds and occasionally in excess of 50 pounds.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
