The Surgery Center of Central PA is seeking experienced PRN & PT Registered Nurses (RN) to join our Pre-Op/PACU team at our ambulatory surgery center. We specialize in ophthalmology and endoscopy, providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe and efficient outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
- Provide skilled postoperative recovery care and monitor patients until discharge criteria are met.
- Assess and manage pain, nausea, and other postoperative needs.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedure expectations and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
- Current RN license.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of two years of recent experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or perioperative nursing preferred.
- Ambulatory Surgery Center experience preferred.
- Ophthalmology and/or endoscopy experience is a plus.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
