Position Overview:
The Carpenter is responsible for performing advanced techniques in various areas of construction trades responding to emergency and non-emergency service jobs. Responsibilities include maintaining a fully stocked and prepared company vehicle to drive to work sites, preparing, maintaining and cleaning work areas, and performing repairs per the scope of work and project manager direction.
Responsibilities:
The Carpenter will perform the following duties along with any additional duties as assigned by management per business needs. These duties are not listed in any particular order and are subject to change.
- Proficiency in light carpentry, framing, drywall, paint, trim and all aspects of repair that is common with handyman work
- Prepare rooms / areas for work activities to include setting up staging areas, equipment and content protection
- Ability to provide direction to subcontractors
- Maintain clean and organized work areas to include securely storing equipment and supplies while not in use
- Interface with customers and relay information to Project Manager or Superintendent when appropriate
- Complete paperwork, upload documents, and provide job updates into database as needed
- Complete punch list items with attention to detail
- Maintain equipment in clean and working condition
- Ensure the company vehicle is fully stocked at all times and travel to a nearby home improvement store to purchase needed items
- Monitor the safety, security, efficiency, and appearance of the company vehicle
- Monitor the safety, security and appearance of job sites
- Assist with demolition and general clean up as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and / or restoration.
- Hands on experience in drywall, paint, trim and light carpentry.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Understanding of major trades processes (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
- Willingness to be flexible based on business needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment.
- Proficient use of computer technology.
- Proficiency in light carpentry, framing, drywall, paint, trim and all aspects of repair that is common with handyman work.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships.
- Eligible to operate a vehicle per company policy.

- Ability to safely use hand and power tools, occasionally climb ladders, stoop and kneel.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., as well as stoop, bend, sit, stand and walk.
- Must be able to drive up to a 100-mile radius from office to clients’ office and company facilities.
- Must be able to work in and on overhead structures.
- Participate in occasional overnight travel, weekend and/or evening work.
- This role may use standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
