Job Description: As a Personal Injury Paralegal at Maximus Law, you will play a crucial role in supporting the case management process for personal injury claims. This position is ideal for a self-driven individual with experience in personal injury law who is able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with our attorneys to provide high-quality support, ensuring that deadlines are met and clients receive the compensation they deserve. We are looking for somebody well versed in personal injury that can handle litigation matters from A-Z.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, discovery responses, motions, and other pleadings.
- Assist with case preparation by gathering medical records, accident reports, witness statements, and other necessary documents.
- Communicate regularly with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and other parties involved in the case to facilitate the smooth progression of each case.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring that all documents are accurately filed, updated, and easily accessible.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, and discovery materials.
- Prepare settlement demand packages and assist with the negotiation process.
- Conduct legal research and provide support in developing legal strategies.
- Manage case calendars to ensure deadlines are met for filings, discovery, and court appearances.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure all client and case information is securely stored.
- Correct any errors quickly and efficiently as identified, ensuring the quality of work is maintained.
- Take full accountability for any errors and work proactively to ensure accuracy moving forward.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law, including both pre-litigation and litigation processes.
- Experience handling minor compensation cases.
- Proficiency with case management software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines.
- Paralegal certification preferred but not required.
- Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are preferred but not required.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to maintain open communication with attorneys and other departments.
