The Camp Transformation Center - Pico Rivera is a community-driven fitness hub dedicated to transforming lives through high-intensity interval training (HIIT), circuit training, nutrition guidance, and a supportive environment. We’re seeking an experienced Lead Trainer specializing in HIIT circuit training to lead our classes, and help drive membership sales.
Job Summary
The Lead Trainer will design and deliver dynamic HIIT circuit training classes, ensure a clean and safe gym environment, and contribute to membership and supplement sales. This role demands expertise in functional fitness, strong leadership, and a passion for motivating clients of all fitness levels in the Pico Rivera community. The Lead Trainer will collaborate with the Camp Director to deliver exceptional member experiences and meet sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
HIIT Circuit Training:
- Design and lead high-energy HIIT circuit training classes featuring exercises such as burpees, kettlebell swings, battle ropes, and body weight movements.
- Demonstrate proper exercise form and provide modifications for beginners to advanced participants.
- Inspire and motivate members to achieve fitness goals through personalized feedback and engaging coaching.
- Conduct fitness assessments and track member progress to drive results.
Gym Maintenance:
- Oversee daily cleaning and maintenance of gym equipment and facilities to ensure a safe, hygienic environment.
- Organize equipment (e.g., kettlebells, medicine balls) and re-rack weights (up to 100 lbs).
- Report equipment issues to management and coordinate repairs as needed.
Sales and Customer Service:
- Engage with members and guests to promote memberships, supplements, and merchandise tailored to the Pico Rivera community.
- Conduct gym tours, answer inquiries, and assist with membership enrollments.
- Achieve individual and team sales goals as set by the Camp Director.
Leadership and Administrative:
- Mentor Assistant Trainers and provide feedback to enhance class delivery.
- Participate in staff meetings and continuing education to stay current on HIIT and fitness trends.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current personal trainer or group fitness certification from a nationally accredited organization (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, NESTA, NSCA, ISSA) with a focus on HIIT or circuit training.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Degree in exercise science, Kinesiology, or related field preferred but not required if certified.
Experience and Skills:
- 2+ years of experience leading HIIT, circuit training, or group fitness classes.
- Strong knowledge of HIIT principles, functional exercises, and circuit design.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a motivating, high-energy presence.
- Proven ability to drive sales and build client relationships
- Basic computer skills for tracking attendance and sales.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred to serve the diverse community.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 100 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable demonstrating HIIT exercises and assisting members with equipment.
Legal Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal work authorization required.
