Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Rig Hand/CDL A Driver, where you will play a vital role in supporting drilling operations and transportation logistics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on rig maintenance with professional commercial driving, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of equipment, supplies, and materials to various job sites. You will be responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment, while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks on over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries.
- Load and unload equipment, supplies, and hazardous materials (hazmat), ensuring proper handling in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Navigate using GPS systems accurately to reach designated locations efficiently while maintaining adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Transport refrigerated trailers and other specialized cargo with precision, ensuring cargo integrity during transit.
- Maintain vehicle safety inspections, perform routine maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, hazard materials regulations, and DOT safety standards during daily operations.
- Assist with logistics cargo handling at the job site or warehouse, including forklift operation when necessary for loading or unloading freight.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Proven experience in truck driving, delivery driving, or route driving within the commercial trucking industry.
- Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures for freight, hazardous goods, flatbed loads, tanker loads, and other specialized cargo.
- Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely and efficiently in various environments.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Certifications in Hazmat transportation and forklift operation are a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is required.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT compliance standards, and safety protocols related to commercial truck driving.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, manual handling expertise for cargo management, and the ability to load & unload freight efficiently.
