A leading international law firm is seeking a Debt Finance Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing lenders, borrowers, and private equity sponsors in sophisticated debt financing transactions.
- 1–3 years of debt finance, banking, or commercial finance experience gained at a large law firm
- Experience representing lenders, borrowers, and/or private equity sponsors in debt financing transactions
- Experience with secured lending transactions , including drafting, negotiating, and closing financing transactions
- Experience preparing and managing transaction documents, closing checklists, and issues lists
- Working knowledge of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code required
- Experience with acquisition financings, commitment letters, debt securities offerings, high-yield offerings, and/or convertible notes is preferred
- Familiarity with general corporate law principles
- Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple sophisticated transactions simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Excellent academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
- Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted
