Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming area and sanitize tools regularly to uphold health standards
- Assess each pet’s coat condition and recommend suitable grooming treatments or pet care advice to owners
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with pet owners about grooming preferences and aftercare instructions
- Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring a gentle yet firm approach that minimizes stress for the animals
- Support other team members with animal handling, kennel duties, or pet sitting as needed to ensure a smooth workflow
Experience
- Previous dog grooming experience is highly preferred, demonstrating proficiency in bathing, trimming, and styling various breeds
- Knowledge of pet grooming products, tools, and techniques to deliver professional results
- Experience with animal handling, restraint, and care practices to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is a plus,
- Familiarity with dog training principles and canine behavior management enhances your ability to work effectively with diverse pets
- Ability to lift heavy objects such as grooming equipment or large dogs safely and comfortably
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
