Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Family Sessions: Coordinate and monitor scheduled family visits, maintaining a secure, encouraging, and respectful atmosphere for children and parents.
- Evaluate Interactions: Monitor family dynamics in real time and apply immediate crisis de-escalation strategies if safety concerns arise.
- Promote Healthy Engagement: Use active listening and motivational guidance to support constructive, positive interactions between family members.
- Maintain Accurate Case Records: Log precise, objective notes detailing behavioral observations, family progress, and any notable incidents during the visit.
- Coordinate Care Teams: Partner closely with state caseworkers, legal professionals, and community providers to assist families in meeting reunification milestones.
- Uphold Mandatory Reporting: Identify any indicators of potential child maltreatment or safety violations, reporting them immediately according to state compliance laws.
- Resolve On-Site Conflicts: Handle behavioral challenges and emotional distress quickly and calmly using proven conflict resolution techniques.
Candidate Requirements
- Background in Child Welfare: experience caring for or working with youth within social services, foster care, or community-based programs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with child protective service workflows, family court systems, and state mandated reporting laws.
- Crisis & Conflict Management: ability to de-escalate high-stress situations, manage emotional outbursts, and maintain physical and emotional safety.
- Cultural Responsiveness: understanding of diverse backgrounds and a commitment to working equitably with families from all walks of life.
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
