Role Summary
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and professional caregivers (DSPs) to provide exceptional in-home and community-based support to individuals receiving services under New Mexico's Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver. You will deliver personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and inclusion, helping our clients live their preferred lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, transfers, and preparing nutritious meals in their homes.
- Goal Implementation: Carry out individual-specific Action Plans, Desired Outcomes, and Teaching and Support Strategies (TSS) outlined in the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
- Community Integration: Support clients to explore their communities, build relationships, join local clubs, and pursue volunteer or employment opportunities under the "Employment First" principle.
- Health & Safety Monitoring: Watch for and immediately report any changes in physical, nutritional, or behavioral condition to the Agency Supervisor and Registered Nurse (RN).
- Electronic Documentation: Use the state-approved Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system via the Therap mobile app to log shifts in real-time, strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Medication Assistance: Help with medication delivery under the clinical supervision and delegation of our Agency Nurse.
- Safety & Advocacy: Prevent and immediately report any suspicions of Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation (ANE) in accordance with New Mexico DHI regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A compassionate, respectful, and person-centered mindset.
- Must pass a Caregiver Criminal History Screening Program (CCHSP) background check and Employee Abuse Registry (EAR) check prior to hire.
- Ability to complete required NM core training (including ANE Awareness, HIPAA, and Keys to Health) within 30 calendar days of hire and prior to working alone.
- Must possess or obtain a valid First Aid and CPR Certification (meeting OSHA standards) within 30 days of hire and prior to working alone.
- Must have reliable internet and smartphone access to utilize the Therap EVV application.
- If performing transportation duties: Valid New Mexico Driver's License, proof of valid auto insurance, reliable vehicle, and a clean driving record (no DUIs or at-fault accidents within the previous two years).
- Experience with specialized care (such as autism, developmental disabilities, behavioral support, or physical transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts) is a plus, but not required—we provide comprehensive training!
Pay: $144.00 per day
