We are currently seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our Michigan Firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some legal or professional office experience who is looking to expand their knowledge and build a long-term career in the legal field. We provide training, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth while working alongside an experienced team.
What You'll Do
As a valued member of our team, you will:
- Assist with handling Michigan replevin and eviction files from referral through resolution.
- Prepare, review, and organize pleadings, notices, affidavits, motions, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Monitor court dockets, deadlines, and case milestones to ensure timely case management.
- File legal documents with Michigan courts through electronic filing systems when applicable.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, courts, process servers, vendors, and opposing parties.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation within the firm's case management system.
- Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys throughout the legal process.
- Learn and maintain compliance with Michigan court procedures, client guidelines, and firm policies.
- Successfully manage multiple files while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a law firm, legal office, property management, mortgage servicing, collections, or other professional office environment.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with legal documents, court filings, or case management systems.
- Experience in evictions, replevin, creditors' rights, collections, property management, or real estate.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate.
- Familiarity with Michigan court procedures and electronic filing systems.

Pay: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
