Duties
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines and manual inspection techniques to detect prohibited items.
- Interpret security policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Perform background checks on travelers when necessary, verifying identities and travel documents to uphold security standards.
- Manage in-person customer service interactions by addressing passenger inquiries, providing guidance, and de-escalating conflicts with professionalism.
- Operate security equipment efficiently, including X-ray scanners and metal detectors, while maintaining safety protocols during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks.
- Apply emotional regulation techniques to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively, ensuring a secure environment for all.
- Enforce transportation security screening policies by adhering strictly to SOPs, managing conflict situations with conflict management techniques, and maintaining situational awareness at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience in aviation or airport security is preferred but not required; comprehensive training will be provided.
- Strong command of English is essential for clear communication with passengers and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and standard operating procedures accurately within a security context.
- Experience in customer service roles that involve in-person interactions, conflict resolution, or de-escalation techniques is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and manual handling safely while following safety guidelines.
- Knowledge of airport security protocols, including transportation security screening processes and compliance requirements.
- Skills in X-ray interpretation, security procedures, and performing background checks are highly valued.
