The Role:
The HSE Manager will be responsible for overseeing all health, safety, and environmental programs for RONI Group's construction operations in the US. This role will partner closely with Operations, Project Management, Superintendents, and Field Teams to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on safety leader capable of influencing field personnel, conducting proactive risk assessments, reducing incidents, and fostering a world-class safety culture.
Health & Safety Leadership
- Lead and implement RONI Group’s corporate Health, Safety & Environmental programs and systems.
- Provide safety leadership, coaching, and guidance to project managers, superintendents, forepersons, and field crews.
Regulatory Compliance
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of the company’s ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
- Ensure HSE policies, procedures, risk assessments, and operational controls align with ISO 45001 requirements.
- Coordinate internal audits, corrective actions, management reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor organizational compliance with documented HSE processes and drive standardization across all U.S. operations.
- Support external audits, certifications, surveillance audits, and recertification activities.
Construction Site Safety
- Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
- Identify corrective actions and track closure of safety deficiencies.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
- Coordinate return-to-work and injury management programs when required.
- Execute safety training programs for field and office personnel.
- Conduct new hire orientations and site-specific safety training.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns.
- Track training compliance and certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience implementing, managing, or maintaining an ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
- Proven experience conducting incident investigations and regulatory audits.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HSE experience within construction environments.
- Minimum 2 years in a safety leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
- Experience supporting excavation, civil, demolition, concrete, shoring, or heavy construction projects.
