Position Summary
The Cultivation Technician plays a critical role in the daily care, growth, and maintenance of cannabis plants throughout all stages of production. This position supports the cultivation team by executing hands‑on plant care, monitoring environmental conditions, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring consistent adherence to facility protocols. Technicians help maintain healthy, high‑quality plants that meet production goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Care & Fertigation
- Dose fertilizer tanks according to established recipes and schedules.
- Water plants using hand‑watering and automated systems while monitoring moisture levels and runoff.
- Track and report irrigation issues, nutrient deficiencies, or irregularities.
Pruning, Training & Deleafing
- Prune, train, and deleaf plants to optimize airflow, light penetration, and canopy structure.
- Execute topping, low‑stress training, and structural adjustments as directed by cultivation leadership.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
- Perform pest management tasks including scouting, applying biological controls, and assisting with spray applications.
- Identify early signs of pests, disease, or environmental stress and report findings promptly.
Propagation & Transplanting
- Take clones with consistent technique to maintain genetic integrity and high success rates.
- Prepare media, label trays, and maintain propagation cleanliness.
- Transplant plants at appropriate growth stages while minimizing plant stress.
Sanitation & Facility Cleanliness
- Maintain strict sanitation standards in grow rooms, hallways, equipment areas, and workstations.
- Clean floors, tables, tools, reservoirs, and surfaces to prevent contamination.
- Follow SOPs for biosecurity, PPE, and cross‑contamination prevention.
Environmental & Equipment Monitoring
- Observe and report issues with HVAC, lighting, irrigation, or environmental controls.
- Assist with basic equipment cleaning and upkeep.
Recordkeeping & Compliance
- Accurately document plant activities, fertigation logs, IPM treatments, and inventory movements.
- Follow all state regulations and internal SOPs for cannabis handling and tracking.
General Cultivation Support
- Assist with harvest preparation, defoliation, and plant staging.
- Support team members with daily tasks to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Uphold safety standards and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse work, or cannabis cultivation preferred.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in warm/humid environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment.
Work Environment
- Indoor cultivation facility with varying temperatures, humidity levels, and lighting conditions.
- Requires PPE, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with state cannabis regulations.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
