The Director of Managed Care Modeling and Performance is a strategic leader responsible for advancing Mercy’s financial and operational performance across managed care initiatives. This role drives economic strategy, supports contract optimization, and ensures readiness for value-based and risk-based models.
You will partner with executive, clinical, and operational leaders to translate complex data into actionable strategies—optimizing reimbursement, improving outcomes, and strengthening Mercy’s long-term sustainability.
What You’ll Do
- Lead managed care modeling and analytics to support contract strategy and performance optimization
- Drive financial performance across value-based and risk-bearing reimbursement models
- Partner with clinical, operational, and finance leaders to ensure readiness and success in managed care contracts
- Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for executive leaders
- Develop and execute strategies that achieve key financial and performance targets
- Provide leadership on complex financial and operational challenges
- Collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality, timely results on strategic initiatives
This is a hybrid role and so candidates must live in one of Mercy's primary communities or be willing to move to one of those locations - St. Louis, MO; Springfield, MO; Cape Girardeau, MO; Northwest Arkansas region; Oklahoma City, OK.
Initial training period will be in St. Louis, MO - must be able to travel to that location.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Healthcare Administration
- 5+ years of relevant experience in healthcare finance, managed care, or related field
- Prior leadership experience
- Experience with hospital reimbursement and/or physician practice operations and reimbursement
Key Skills
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to drive sustainable, positive outcomes
- Experience with managed care contracting, including risk-based arrangements (payer or provider side)
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to lead through complexity and collaborate across diverse teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
