JOB TITLE: Building Administrative Assistant
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually by building administrator, as assigned and in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education Policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborates and works directly with the Building Principal and the Assistant Principal (Elementary Lead) directly to support the foundational excellence of the Early Childhood through 3rd-grade cohort

Operates primarily out of the Main Office, serving as a vital communication hub and cultural bridge for the elementary wing.

Supports cohort-specific administrative workflows for Early Childhood through 3rd-grade instructional teams, Special Education, Specialized Support, Paraprofessionals, and elementary support staff.

Assists leadership in organizing documentation, schedules, and materials for monthly team meetings, PPS/MTSS, 504s, and IEP annual reviews.

Assists during peak times and extended absences with additional secretarial staff to best support the needs of the entire EC-8 campus.

Collaborates with secretarial staff to gather materials and obtain documents, electronic or otherwise, for building or district-level reports in accordance with specific instructions.

Performs and supports all necessary secretarial, clerical, and record-keeping functions, including filing in a timely manner as necessary for the effective functioning of the Main Office and school.

Acts as a primary receptionist for the school, welcoming early childhood and elementary students, parents, staff, and visitors, ensuring an equitable and high-trust environment.

Receives phone calls and distributes messages accordingly to reduce communication bottlenecks.

Develops and contributes to school communications directed toward elementary staff and families.

Coordinates school events for elementary students, staff, and families, ensuring smooth transitions and positive community engagement (e.g., Open Houses).

Responds to requests for sensitive information and provides assistance as appropriate while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Supports secretarial staff and building administration by using automated equipment such as computers, printers, copy equipment, voice messaging systems, electronic mail systems, and telephones.

Attends all training and workshops deemed necessary and mandatory by the building administration.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Technology proficiency: databases, email, Google Suite, PowerSchool, Internet, etc.
- Exceptional problem-solving, critical-thinking, and strategic planning skills
- Ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, take initiative, and demonstrate skill growth
- Maintain composure in stressful situations
- Ensure confidentiality of all information.
SALARY:
- 205 days per year
- $21.00-23.75/hourly Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
