In order to apply, the following qualifications are needed:
- Bachelor's Degree required, in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related area, with six years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings.
- Two years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
The Director of Day Program Services is responsible for the oversight of the Day Program. This oversight includes the provision of programming, direct supports and supervision of individuals served according to their needs and program planning, and the general management of the assigned caseload to ensure environmental comfort, safety and regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions
Supervision/Management
Oversee all aspects of the Day Program Services including ensuring adequate and competent supervision, ensuring the program runs smoothly and within compliance of all regulations while simultaneously meeting the needs of the individuals served. Specifically:
- Ensures that individuals receive meaningful services in community settings that reflect the core values of People First, Equity, Community, Self- determination and Diversity. Encourage staff to act as an advocate when interacting with the community;
- Performs routine site inspections to ensure compliance with governmental regulations, and to ensure that quality standards are maintained according to agency requirements;
- Monitors staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage to meet the needs of individuals served, including substitute staffing assignments for call-offs and emerging coverage needs;
- Build and maintain a competent workforce by assisting with screening, hiring, training and evaluations for supervisors of assigned caseload. Provides regular feedback and coaching to support employee development;
- Assists with the development and implementation of services for individuals served to ensure needs are addressed for health and safety, skill/goal development, behavior supports and community inclusion, including active participation with the interdisciplinary team and meetings. Collaborates and assists with the admission and intake process for initiating appropriate services to individuals.
Financial
- Oversee the administration of site budgets, personnel budgets, and petty cash by monitoring staffing schedules, and expenditures, and maintaining accurate records within the scope of policy restrictions.
Documentation
- Ensure staff are adequately trained to provide consistent, timely and accurate documentation at all times. Ensure compliance with state agencies in providing oversight for all documentation thus securing adequate funding levels while maintaining a comprehensive record of the care provided to individuals in accordance with their right to self-determination and well-being.
Bona Fide Occupational Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree required, in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related area, with six years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings;
- Two years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity
