Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tax Senior to lead tax compliance and planning efforts for a diverse portfolio of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and closely held corporations. The Tax Senior will manage preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, provide tax research and planning, mentor junior staff, and ensure timely, accurate deliverables while maintaining strong client relationships and compliance with tax law.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review and file complex federal, state and local tax returns for C corporations (C Corps), S corporations (S Corps), partnerships, trusts, estates and high-net-worth individuals.

Lead tax compliance engagements for family office clients and closely held businesses, ensuring coordination of entity-level and individual filings.

Conduct tax research and interpret federal and state tax law to provide actionable planning recommendations and correct tax positions.

Manage and supervise day-to-day work of junior tax staff: delegate tasks, review workpapers, provide feedback and support professional development.

Coordinate tax provision and quarterly estimated tax calculations; assist with tax planning for year-end and lifecycle events.

Communicate with clients, outside advisors and tax authorities to resolve issues, respond to notices and gather necessary documentation.

Identify process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy in return preparation and review.

Ensure all engagements meet firm quality and compliance standards, deadlines and documentation requirements.

Assist with complex tax projects, mergers & acquisitions tax support, and special reporting requirements as needed.

Contribute to business development by participating in client meetings, proposals and relationship-building activities.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Masters degree or advanced accounting coursework preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required or active candidate for CPA certification.

Minimum 4+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or equivalent; prior experience as a Tax Senior or Tax Accountant preferred.

Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing C Corp, S Corp and individual tax returns and related schedules; strong return preparation (Prep) skills.

Experience working with family offices and high-net-worth individual tax issues a plus.

Solid technical knowledge of federal and state tax law, regulations and compliance requirements.

Strong accounting foundation and familiarity with tax provision concepts.

Excellent communication, client service and project management skills; able to manage multiple deadlines and engagements.

Proficient with tax research tools and tax preparation software; advanced Excel skills.

Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
