You’ve mastered the help desk. Now you’re ready for more.
You know how to troubleshoot and take care of users. But you’re ready to get deeper into client environments—servers, networks, Microsoft 365, security, escalated problems, and the systems that keep a business running.
You want more ownership, more variety, more time working directly with clients, and the opportunity to keep growing technically.
That’s what this role is built for.
Who We Are
Quo Vadis is a fresh take on managed IT and has been named Charlotte’s Best IT Provider two years running.
Our goal is simple: create Raving Fans.
We’re a tight, high-energy team that cares about doing excellent work, taking care of our clients, and taking care of each other. We set a high bar, hold each other accountable, and jump in when a teammate needs help.
The Role
Your primary home will be on our Technical Alignment team, working across our clients to keep their technology reliable, secure, standardized, and working the way it should.
This is a hands-on Tier 2 role. You’ll troubleshoot escalated technical issues, work inside client networks and Microsoft environments, identify and correct problems, deploy hardware, onboard new clients, and regularly work onsite.
You’ll also be one of the technical faces of Quo Vadis. When you walk into a client’s office, we want you to be someone they’re glad to see—confident, professional, approachable, and capable of getting things done.
And because we operate as one Dream Team, when our Service Desk needs help, you jump in. That may mean answering calls and working tickets during high-volume periods or helping cover when a teammate is sick or on vacation.
It won’t be your primary seat, but it is part of this one. We don’t consider helping the Service Desk beneath a Tier 2 engineer—we consider it being a great teammate. If your instinct is “not my job,” this probably isn’t the team for you.
Why This Seat is Different
At a big IT shop, it’s easy to get boxed into one lane. Not here.
You’ll work across different client environments, technologies, industries, and challenges. You’ll troubleshoot remotely, work hands-on with infrastructure, spend time onsite, and learn alongside experienced engineers.
On a team our size, your work gets noticed. You’ll be trusted with real responsibility and have opportunities to take on more as you prove you’re ready.
We don’t believe advancement should be about waiting your turn. Develop the skills, demonstrate the judgment, and perform at the next level, and we want to help you get there.
What your days look like
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2 issues across Microsoft 365, Windows, servers, networking, VPNs, applications, endpoints, and related infrastructure.
- Regularly work onsite at client locations to troubleshoot problems, install and configure technology, and help keep environments aligned with Quo Vadis standards.
- Proactively identify configuration issues, aging equipment, security concerns, and other problems before they become tickets.
- Help onboard new clients and bring their environments into the Quo Vadis Way.
- Take ownership of escalated issues and dig beyond the symptoms to find the root cause. We want permanent fixes, not recurring tickets.
- Document your work clearly so the next person has what they need.
- Communicate comfortably with everyone from end users to business owners and executives.
- Jump in alongside our Service Desk when call volume, ticket volume, or teammate availability requires it.
The honest part: we’re an MSP. One morning you may be troubleshooting a network issue, that afternoon deploying equipment onsite, and the next day helping onboard a new client.
If variety, problem-solving, client interaction, and being part of a team that jumps in wherever needed energizes you, you’ll probably love it here. If you need every day to look the same—or believe certain work is beneath your title—you probably won’t.
What You Need
We care more about what you can actually do than how many acronyms are on your résumé. You don’t need to know every technology we use on day one, but you do need a strong technical foundation and the ability to figure things out.
- 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience, ideally in an MSP or multi-client environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID, and common business applications.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, permissions, and file shares.
- Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computers, network equipment, and business technology.
- The ability to take ownership of an escalated problem, work through it methodically, and know when you need another set of eyes.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Professional, polished, and comfortable representing Quo Vadis face-to-face with clients.
- Able to work independently while being equally willing to ask for or offer help.
- Local to the Charlotte/Matthews area, able to work from our Matthews office every day, and comfortable regularly traveling to client sites.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
And just as important as your technical skills: you have to be a great teammate. We want someone who takes ownership, honors commitments, stays positive when things get busy, and sees a teammate struggling as a reason to jump in—not look the other way.

Ready to apply?
You might be our person if you’re technically curious, take ownership of problems, genuinely enjoy helping people, and want to keep getting better at your craft.
You take pride in doing things right. You communicate well with clients. You don’t need someone standing over your shoulder to make sure things get done. And when a teammate is buried, your instinct is to ask, “How can I help?”
We can teach you our tools and processes.
What’s much harder to teach is character, curiosity, ownership, and the desire to be part of a great team.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.
