Job Overview

Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
- Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, X-ray imaging, and basic life support when necessary.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient encounters accurately and maintain confidentiality.
- Perform basic anatomy and physiology assessments to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Conduct ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for billing and documentation purposes.
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient care across diverse settings such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), medical-surgical units, and Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Support hospital experience including Level I trauma center protocols and OR (Operating Room) procedures when applicable.
- Handle administrative tasks like appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and insurance verification to ensure seamless clinic operations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding standards.
- Proven experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics with a focus on patient service excellence.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate documentation and data management.
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and efficiently in diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Experience supporting emergency medicine procedures such as medication administration or X-ray imaging in high-pressure environments like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers.
- Excellent communication skills to provide compassionate patient care while supporting medical staff with intake and administrative duties.
- Knowledge of inpatient care protocols along with hospital experience in medical-surgical units or PICU settings is highly desirable.
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments such as urgent care clinics or emergency departments while maintaining attention to detail.
