Horsham Center for Jewish Life, a 324-bed long-term care community, is committed to providing exceptional care and enhancing the quality of life for our residents. We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Full-Time Cook to join our Dietary Services team.
In this role, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals while helping ensure a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys serving others, and is committed to delivering excellent customer service. This position requires flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and production schedules.
Ensure food is prepared and served in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation areas.
Assist with inventory, food storage, and proper rotation of supplies.
Work collaboratively with the Dietary Services team to provide excellent meal service.
Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines.
Previous cooking experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
Experience in a healthcare, nursing home, rehabilitation, or senior living setting is a plus.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Reliable attendance and a dependable work ethic.
ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and other physical kitchen duties.
