Job Title: Framing Carpenter
Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Framing Carpenter to join our construction team. The Framing Carpenter will be responsible for constructing the structural framework of residential and/or commercial buildings, including walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs, according to plans and building codes. The ideal candidate has strong carpentry skills, can read blueprints accurately, and works safely and efficiently on job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood, metal studs, and other framing materials
- Construct walls, floors, ceilings, stairways, and roof systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Ensure framing is level, square, plumb, and aligned
- Install sheathing, subflooring, and structural components
- Follow local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Collaborate with supervisors, contractors, and other trades
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Inspect work for accuracy and structural integrity
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a framing carpenter or similar role
- Strong knowledge of framing techniques, materials, and tools
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction plans
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards (or local equivalent)
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Residential and/or commercial framing experience
- Experience with metal stud framing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Construction certification or apprenticeship completion (a plus)
Work Environment
- Outdoor and indoor construction sites
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Physically demanding work requiring standing, lifting, climbing, and bending
Pay: $28.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
