Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Per Diem Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients across various medical-surgical units, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through comprehensive assessment, intervention, and education. This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability while supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in acute care settings, with proficiency in EMR systems and a broad skill set encompassing diverse clinical procedures.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner and Epic.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments when applicable.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely, managing acute pain and responding promptly to emergent situations in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile dressing changes following aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and clinical standards.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medication administration, discharge instructions, and health promotion strategies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation for legal and billing purposes.
- Support triage activities in urgent care or emergency room settings by prioritizing patient needs based on acuity levels.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in trauma medicine, infectious disease care, geriatrics, and other relevant specialties.
MUST HAVE:
- 2 yrs Medical Surgical Experience
- 2 Yrs Acute Care RN Experience in a Hospital Setting
- Previous Travel or Per Diem Experience
- BLS (AHA)
- Active Minnesota License
- Required to pick up at least 1 shift/month
Shift: Days and Nights 12 Hour

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
