Healthcare Consultant – Single Case Agreements (SCA) & Revenue Optimization
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $135,000 – $150,000 annually
Assignment Length: 12-Month Contract
About the Opportunity
A large public health organization serving Los Angeles County is seeking an experienced Healthcare Consultant to develop and implement a sustainable Single Case Agreement (SCA) and revenue optimization program. This high-impact role will focus on improving reimbursement for out-of-network services while creating scalable processes that can be transitioned to internal teams for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement standardized SCA workflows across multiple programs
- Develop systems to track, manage, and report SCA requests and approvals
- Partner with internal stakeholders to secure authorizations from private health plans
- Identify opportunities to increase reimbursement for currently unreimbursed services
- Collaborate with health plan representatives and Utilization Management (UM) teams
- Analyze operational gaps and recommend process improvements
- Create documentation, workflows, and training materials
- Support integration of SCA processes into revenue cycle operations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare consulting, managed care, revenue cycle, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of private health plans, payer systems, and reimbursement processes
- Experience with Single Case Agreements (SCA), out-of-network authorizations, or Utilization Management (UM)
- Proven ability to build workflows and operational processes from the ground up
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business, or a related field preferred
- Certifications such as CPC, CPHM, CHC, or similar are a plus
