Medical Assistant
Red Butte Healthcare is an interventional pain management practice dedicated to providing compassionate high-quality care to our patients.
We have an immediate need for a dependable, skilled, and detail-oriented individual to join our medical team as a Medical Assistant in Chandler, AZ. The clinical support medical assistant duties are:
- Taking medical histories,
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients,
- Preparing patients for examinations,
- Assisting the physician during examinations, as needed,
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens,
- Taking vital signs, such as temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure,
- Performing basic laboratory tests,
- Instructing patients about medication and special diets,
- Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections - including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., nurse practitioner or physician assistant),
- Phlebotomy,
- Taking electrocardiograms,
- Wound care and changing dressings,
- Training and mentoring medical assistant students/externs,
- Quickly answer or properly refer questions and/or issues,
- Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions,
- And Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating office supply needs and expediting supply orders,
- Sterilizing instruments,
- Following up with patients after appointments.
The administrative/front office clinical medical assistant duties are:
- Greet patients professionally both in person and on the phone,
- Answering telephones,
- Updating and filing patient medical records,
- Coding and filling out insurance forms,
- Arranging hospital admissions and laboratory services,
- Handling correspondence,
- Ensure availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records,
- Optimize physician schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling,
- Notify providers of patient arrivals,
- Transmitting prescription refills as directed,
- Scheduling appointments,
- Verify financial records and collect patient charges.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required
- At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and healthcare documentation standards
- Strong commitment to patient service with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in or willing to learn eClinicalWorks - Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Accurate and efficient typing, spelling, and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with peers, providers, and supervisors
- Detail orientation and the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast paced environment is key to succeeding in this role.
Benefits
- Pay Rate: $21 - $26 per hour, depending on experience
