Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Manager/Mechanic to lead our maintenance and repair operations for skid steers and heavy equipment. In this role, you will oversee daily service activities, ensure the highest standards of equipment performance, and deliver exceptional customer service. Duties
- Lead and coordinate service operations, including diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery.
- Perform detailed electrical diagnostics, hydraulic troubleshooting, transmission repairs, brake servicing, suspension work, and diesel engine repairs using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct fabrication tasks including welding, assembly, and custom modifications to meet operational needs.
- Utilize power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to troubleshoot issues efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards for all repairs and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inspection reports while managing parts inventory effectively.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair status clearly and advising on equipment care to clients.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment servicing including construction machinery maintenance and automotive repair.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred to ensure familiarity with OEM parts and repair standards.
- Skilled in electrical systems diagnostics such as HVAC systems, Hydraulic Systems, electrical wiring, sensors, and diesel repair.
- Extensive knowledge of hydraulics, suspensions, air brakes, tire service, and diesel engine diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers or mini excavators is advantageous.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and perform complex troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques.
